Acting locally to effect national change

We are a small, growing coalition of citizens who came together in October 2020 to protect the election and defend democracy using peaceful, strategic civil-resistance action. This website curates a variety of resources—organizations, toolkits, articles, and online libraries—devoted to democracy defense and social justice. Our newsletter (published through Substack and previously a blog), 3.5%, focuses on specific actions one can take and highlights important resources and information.

Our members have:

  • Participated in get-out-the-vote phone banks

  • Assisted voters at the polls

  • Supported legislative initiatives that protect elections and strengthen democracy

  • Praised democracy heroes and protested democracy villains

  • Written letters to elected officials urging their support of a speedy presidential transition

  • Launched and participated in get-out-the-vote and democracy-hero postcard-writing campaigns

  • Broadcast news of fundraising efforts, democracy-related programming, and other initiatives aimed at protecting elections and civic discourse

  • Curated statewide and national resources for democracy-defense activists everywhere
